Rohe carries out first ever Bio-LNG bunkering in Hamina in collaboration with E&S Tankers

Rohe Solutions recently completed the very first bunkering with Bio-LNG in the Hamina LNG terminal. The bunkering that took place on February 21st was completed successfully in collaboration with the client, E&S Tankers, and the Hamina LNG terminal. Despite the windy conditions, the operation was safe, thanks to all of the parties diligently prioritizing safety.

As a result of Rohe having begun the liquefaction of Bio-LNG from the grid in the Hamina LNG terminal, it is now possible to bunker vessels entirely with Bio-LNG, produced from renewable sources. LNG and Bio-LNG are both methane-based gases. Thus, they can also be mixed with one another to offer a possibility for lower emissions with reasonable costs.

Bio-LNG is a concrete step towards fewer emissions

E&S Tankers’ choice to partner with Rohe Solution for this bunkering was based on the fact that Rohe
was able to offer Bio-LNG for the operation. By bunkering with renewable fuel, E&S Tankers can take concrete steps towards reaching its goals regarding use of renewable fuels.
